Olakunle Iluyomade, MD, graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, located in Ile-Ife, Nigeria, in 1992. He completed his internship at Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria, and practiced medicine in Nigeria from 1994 to 1998 before relocating to the United States.
From 1999 to 2002, Dr. Iluyomade completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA. He served as Chief Resident at Abington Memorial Hospital from 2002 to 2003 and continued as a Hospitalist and Instructor for the Department of Internal Medicine from 2003 to 2004.
Dr. Iluyomade further specialized in Pulmonary and Critical Care through a fellowship at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. During his fellowship, his special interests included hemodynamic monitoring, invasive procedures in the ICU, pulmonary rehabilitation, and sleep medicine. He was recognized with the S. Dedhia Award for Outstanding Fellow in Pulmonary and Critical Care in both 2005 and 2007.
Dr. Iluyomade is board-certified in three areas of medicine: internal medicine (2003), pulmonary medicine (2006), and critical care (2007). He is an active member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Thoracic Society. Known for his compassionate approach, Dr. Iluyomade takes the time to listen to his patients and works diligently with them to achieve clearly defined health goals.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Iluyomade is dedicated to Christian ministry and enjoys spending time with his family. He is also an ardent soccer fan. Dr. Iluyomade is married with two children.
